Thanks folks, for another great jackpot cutting yesterday! We had fantastic weather and it was a great day all around. (any day of Cutting is a great day, right?)

The photos from the 2011 Year-End Awards are all posted...check it out! The results for yesterday's show (1/28) will be up next week as well as the 2012 standings.

Don't forget our next show is in 3 weeks...February 18th and you must reserve cattle by 9:00pm Wednesday February 15! We have to place the cattle order early Thursday morning, so please help us get an accurate number by Wednesday evening!

Hi Gang,
Well the 2012 SACHA Cutting Season is off and running! We had a wonderful show (and weather too) at the December 31st show. Now we just have to hope for good weather at the upcoming NCHA show on 3/31 & 4/1!!!!

It is taking some time to get the web site updated and the 2011 Award photos posted, you will need to be patient with me...I'm new to blogging!

Postcards will be out next week to remind you about the upcoming 1/28 show! Don't forget to reserve your works by 9:00 pm Wednesday, January 25th!

HEY!
The Oct. 29th show was great - weather, new mechanical cow and it seemed like the real cows were pretty cooperative - at least for some people! Nice day.

COW RESERVATIONS FOR NOV.26 SHOW !!!!!
You MUST reserve cattle by Wednesday, Nov 23 - 9:30 PM - no exceptions - for REAL this time!!!!
We will be shipping cattle in and need the lead time to get them ordered, etc. If you're late, go ahead and call in your reservation because if someone cancels, you may be able to get in the draw in their place.

SALES BOOTH -
Lisa Haldane will be setting up an area for selling stuff at the SACHA shows. If you have art work, used tack or whatever, see Lisa at the show on Oct. 29th.

Yipeeeee! It's finally cooling off and I'm crawling out of the rock I've been under all summer!!

We had a Board meeting a couple of weeks ago and have set the dates for the NCHA and other
spring shows so be sure to check out the schedule. The only big change is that the NCHA show
will be much later this year (March 31-April 1) so hopefully we'll miss the weird weather.

The club is purchasing a new electric practice flag and it will be set up at all the shows. $40 and
there will be a time limit - not sure what that will be.

It will be good to see everybody again. SOON!

Hi Everybody -
Just thought I'd pass this on -
Many of us remember Fred Imus who took lessons from Scott Raftery a while back and showed a few times at Robertson's in Benson. This morning I ran across an online article that said he passed away last weekend. He was found in his trailer Saturday, August 6, no cause of death mentioned. He was certainly a colorful character and one of those people I wish I had known better and wish I had been able to catch his radio show. I copied the article about him if somebody wants it. (Couldn't figure out how to attach it to this.)

Whoa! It's already been a couple of months since I blogged last! Still not much going on in my world and I haven't heard any juicy stuff so have absolutely nothing to report. I manage to ride once a week and soak in the air conditioner the rest of the time. Getting bored.................but only a couple more months of this!

Hey! I hope everybody has cool plans for the summer. I don't. I will just stay here and melt.

The Western Nationals are going on this week and I've watched a little of it on the internet.
Looks nice and cold there. Here's to the SACHA members that went: Richard Searle, Steve
Taylor, Karen and Hank True, BJ and Melissa Johnson, Lynda Collins, Lisa Haldane, Nina Hardin,
Drew Dunham and Scott Raftery. Sorry if I missed anybody!

Postcards went out for the March 26 show - coming up!

There's a great picture taken by Christine Smith at the March 5 show that should be posted
in the Photo Album soon. Thanks Christine! We should have a contest for a caption. Al Alvarez
thought it should be something like "Hey - doesnt' Alvarez look great sitting on the fence over there?"
(I already told him it sucked.)

We've already had a show since our NCHA show and have two more coming up pretty quick.
The next one is March 5 - "reminder postcards" are coming out soon.

NCHA Show Dec 31-Jan 1

Our NCHA show was great!! After a few nervous moments wondering what the weather was going to do, we went ahead
and had a good show and the weather turned out pretty nice after all. Thank you to all who came on down and supported our efforts!
Judge Willie Richardson made it all the way down from Colorado after a lay up in Show Low and Jimmy Kemp had to
fill in for him the first day so a special THANKS to those guys. Just shows what can get done if people are willing to show up, pitch in and make it work.
There should be some pictures of Year End Award winners for 2010 posted under "Photo Album" by now and I'll be posting a list of all winners in a later blog. Congratulations!

Just wanted to let you all know that I have just heard that Don Perkins had a heart attack Saturday, Dec 4.
Don't know how he is doing or even where he's at yet but will let you know when I hear more.

Yipeeyaaaaaaay! I finally got the final standings done and they should be posted on the web page in a few days.
Congratulations to all the winners!
Remember that in order to qualify for awards, you (or your horse for the horse classes) must have been in at least half the shows. In 2010 we had 5 shows total.
December 15 is the cutoff for the ballots so if you haven't sent yours in yet, you still have a few days. I will post the results on or about the 16th - or somebody else will if I didn't get re-elected!

There is a correction in the $10k Novice Horse standings. Freckled Cee is now tied for first place
with Spins Huntin. Both have 29.5 points. Freckled Cee had been listed under 2 different names
and the points were split.

Great show on Oct 23rd! There were 72 works - a lot for us!

Denise Ross has volunteered to take over most of the entry table duties
from Cindy Alvarez and is doing a great job.
Etta and Sharon are still doing their entry table and announcing jobs
superbly - THANKS you guys - and THANK YOU to all the turn back and
herd holders.

We had a photographer at the show (Suzanne Sylvester) and the photos
should be up at www.ssylvester.com. We hope she will be at all our future
shows.

Ballots will be sent out soon. Be sure and return them to Peggy. We need
all your votes!
