recruiting new board members

It is that time of year again to find and recruit  new board members for 2014. We have a few board members that would like to step down and just help out when needed.   If you would like to step up and be a part of the board please talk to one of the current board members.

Sorry for the inconvenience on the up date of standing and results from the shows.  Kevin's system has been down and he has not been able to get on and up date things for us.  Hope in the next couple of days things will get updated.  We will have the results and the standings at the next show.  Look forward to seeing every one there.

The reservations will put you in the draw.  Reservations end at 9:00 p.m.

There has been sand hauled in for a real nice loping area and then there is also the big arena to warm up in. 

We are looking for donations or sponsors for the saddles and the buckles for the year end awards.  We are excited to be able to get two saddles for the open and the non pro amateur class high points.

cattle reservations December 25 for the December 28, 2013 show

Happy holidays to all.  I want to remind every one the December show is the 28 so we will be taking entries up to December 25, 2013 9:00 p.m.  That is Christmas day so you can do it earlier if you would like.  It is easy to forget to enter when you are celebrating with family and friends.

Happy Turkey Day!

• We have been unable to sort out scheduling and cattle issues for the Sonoita show this year, so we will not be producing a show this year at the Santa Cruz County Fair.  There was just no way we could meeting the Fair's schedule and the possibility of losing money was pretty high.

• We look forward to seeing every one at the October show. Enjoy what is left of the summer and stay cool. 

• Here are the show dates that we have identified so far.  They will be posted on the Web soon:

Thanks to all who attended our "last jackpot cutting before the heat" last weekend!  It was warms, but the cutting was great! 

It has been a great spring, even though we had to cancel the January show because of rain.  Our 2013 NCHA Qualifier was a record for our club with a total of 179 works!!  We also used 67 stalls this year...we almost ran out of daylight on the first day of the show. 

Remember, that we are going to host a jackpot cutting in Sonoita again this year at the Santa Cruz County Fair.  We are hoping to secure a spot on Saturday this year, which would be September 21, 2013.  We will be sending out emails as soon as we firm up the date for the cutting.

Our 2013 October and November shows will probably be held on the last saturday of October and November.   As soon as the dates are secured, they will be posted on this web site.

Just a reminder for any Cutters attending the SACHA NCHA qualifier:  The Cattleman's Cafe is now open on Friday and Saturday evening until 8:00pm! 

Available Stall information:

• The stall available at the Marana venue are dry. 
• Hoses will be available to fill water buckets
• Stalls are $20/stall per night

Stalls are available Friday and/or Saturday (3/15 & 3/16).

  Notice:    We have been able to negotiate a special
"NCHA Show" lodging rate at the Holiday Inn Express,
located at Cortaro Road and I-10 (exit 246).

• Reservations need to be made directly with the hotel by calling Gina at (520) 572-4777

• Call for reservations before 2:00pm any day except Thursday or Sunday

• The rate is $95 per night

  We are looking forward to the upcoming NCHA Qualifier on March 16th & March 17th.  Here are a few Updates:

The February show was a HUGE success...we had lots of cutters and great weather!!!  Now we are looking forward to the NCHA Qualifier coming up on March 16th & March 17th!  The show schedule will be posted on our web site very soon...sorry for the delay.

Such a shame, we had a big show scheduled and it  would have been great fun. Our next show is the  February 16, 2013!  Hopefully, the weather will cooperate for that one!  Have a good month everyone!!!!

Welcome to the 2013 SACHA Cutting Season!

        We had a great "First Cutting" show for the 2013 season on 12/29//12!!

      Thanks to all those who came out to support us....it was a great day of cutting (aren't they all!)  We have 4 more shows scheduled this spring, including the NCHA qualifier on March 16th & 17th.
 
 Please remember to reserve your cattle by the Wednesday before each show....Also note that the Cattle Reservation number will be changing soon...so be sure the use the number on the reminder postcard for reservations.  You can always reserve or pre-enter by using the email address : needcows@sachacutting.com.     Our next show is January 26th, 2013, so the "reservation day" is Wednesday, January 23rd!   See you there!!!

Thanks to all SACHA members for a great 2012 Cutting Season.  We had an enthusiastic annual members meeting at our 11/24/12 cutting (Thanks to those who participated) We announced the new year's elected officers and awarded the 2012 EOY awards when the classes concluded!  I will have the "official" notice for all the 2012 winners on the Web site soon.

Successful SACHA Cutting at the Santa Cruz County Fair!!

To all of the cutters who came to Sonoita yesterday to support SACHA at the Santa Cruz County Fair....a huge Thanks from the SACHA Board of Directors.  We had a great show, fabulous help from the Fair personel, awesome support from the local businesses and, of course, fantastic cutting!!!!!  

We will resume our regular shows at Marana with our October show on 10/27/12!

Information on SCC Fairgrounds for Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012:

• Fairground is located in Sonoita, AZ.  On Hwy 83, just south of the intersection of Hwy 82 & Hwy 83.
• You can enter at the gate signed "Contestants Only", just south of the main Fairground entrance
• After you enter, follow the dirt road around the barn area (on your right) --> then proceed across the racetrack to the main arena.
• Parking for horse trailers is on the north side of the main arena.
